Theatre happens in the mind of spectators,not on the stage
The head of magnet theatre and famous African director Mark Fleishman has said that drama is a medium to protest against the sufferings of refugees in South Africa. He was presenting a paper in the seminar. The National School of Drama director, Anuradha Kapoor also presented a paper in the seminar. He also talked about depicting the life of refugees in drama. Apartheid system and communal roots are the main reasons for producing refugees. For existence, these refugees are easily studying South African languages.
Dr. Anuradha Kapoor talked about the Parsi Theatres which are active for 100 years since 1830s. She also described the end of Parsi Theatres and evolution of Indian theatres. She also spoke that the Indian theatres are culturally rooted very well. They are also giving importance to story and characters. After the presentation of papers, there was an interactive session with audience.
